J. G. Thomson & Co was originally a wine & spirits merchant based in Leith with roots dating back to the 18th century. The business occupied The Vaults in Leith, now home to The Scotch Malt Whisky Society. This historic name has now been re-born with a fantastic new range of spirits.

This 'Rich' Batch No.1 is a blend of Speyside and Highland malt whiskies matured in a range of American and Spanish oak casks, seasoned with Oloroso and Pedro Ximenez sherry wines. The whisky was then blended through a solera system.

The spirit has aromas of raisins, sultanas and orange peel on the nose, with delicious notes of figs, dates and dried spices on the palate.
