J. G. Thomson & Co was originally a wine & spirits merchant based in Leith with roots dating back to the 18th century. The business occupied The Vaults in Leith, now home to The Scotch Malt Whisky Society. This historic name has now been re-born with a fantastic new range of spirits.

This 'Smoky' Batch No.1 is a blend of 100% Islay malt whiskies matured in a range of American oak Pedro Ximenez butts & hogsheads, as well as ex-bourbon hogsheads. The whisky was then blended through a solera system.
